Areas
Establishment of a community Geographic Information System and management of the maintenance of sports facilities.
Context
The CUA (Alençon Urban Community), the owner of this project, wanted to set up a community GIS to meet its own needs, meet the expectations of its member municipalities and to make some of the data accessible to the general public.
This system must provide access to consolidated data at community level, with different levels of detail and information. Cadastral data and the orthophoto map were the first reference points for this consultation and decision-support tool.
Implementation (2007)
GiSmartware has implemented its MapCité web solution in order to publish geographic data for different user profiles (general public, municipalities, greater administrative district councils).
The MapCité application is enriched by interfaces with external applications. Through its AutoCAD MAP licenses the CUA uses the data in the GIS database stored in Oracle Spatial format.
GiSmartware uses remote control technologies to install and configure the MapCité web application, assists and trains the on-site administrator in the tools enabling the integration of cadastral data and new mapping data to enrich the GIS.
The CUA has therefore made available a General Public website allowing access to certain information without login/password.
Implementation (since 2013)
In 2013, it was proposed to the CUA to migrate from MapCité to SmartGeo. This migration has allowed the CUA to improve its GIS:
- Acquisition of the maintenance module enabling monitoring and management of the maintenance of football, handball and basketball goals to be provided;
- Acquisition of a mobility licence in order to be more effective on the ground.
The CUA has made available a video illustrating the use of SmartGeo and of mobility solutions on the activity of maintaining football, handball and basketball goals.
